I once believed I could live in China forever;
I once believed its political system would slowly improve;
I once believed I could rely on the law to protect my rights;
I once believed the leaders of the CCP still had a shred of shame;
I once believed the tyrant Xi Jinping would step down after ten years in power.
When all these "believes" turn to dust, what remains—disappointment?
Despair? Or madness?
Only in the end did I see the truth:
Until tyranny is overthrown, there will be no dawn.
