Many people say that Southeast Asia is not democratic, but I think it is still far better than Xi Jinping's dictatorship in China.
During my time in exile in several Southeast Asian countries, I personally witnessed multiple demonstrations by the people and heard them loudly criticizing their governments. The police just stood nearby without beating or arresting them. If this happened in China, the outcome would be easy to imagine, wouldn't it?
