The Crimes of the Chinese Tyrant Xi Jinping(1): Wanton Violation of Fundamental Human Rights and International Law

As humanity advances into a new era of freedom and rule of law, Chinese Communist Party leader Xi Jinping is moving against the tide of history by enforcing brutal authoritarian rule. He has trampled the already limited basic rights and freedoms, undermined the international order, and openly betrayed core international human rights instruments such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights (ICCPR), and the European Convention on Human Rights. He has become the greatest threat to freedom and human dignity in the world today.

I. Total Suppression of Freedom of Speech: Systematic Deprivation of Basic Rights

Article 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states:
"Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."

Article 19 of the ICCPR also explicitly protects freedom of thought, speech, and information.

However, since Xi Jinping came to power in 2012, freedom of expression in China has suffered unprecedented repression. He personally promoted the expansion of the Great Firewall, blocking massive numbers of websites and filtering keywords. Social media, news outlets, and publishers are subjected to strict censorship. Any criticism of the CCP—or even normal discussions of social issues—can trigger crackdowns by the state security apparatus.

The 2013 "Seven Speak-Nots" directive, which banned discussions of universal values, press freedom, checks and balances, and other topics in universities, marked a sweeping contraction of the space for public discourse. Xi Jinping has used the state apparatus to suppress dissent and police thought, blatantly violating internationally recognized human rights standards.

Renowned rights lawyer Xu Zhiyong was harshly sentenced for advocating civil rights under the charge of "inciting subversion of state power". Countless ordinary internet users have been detained or imprisoned for a few critical comments. Xi Jinping has built a suffocating system of speech terror that pervades every corner of society.

II. Destruction of Checks and Balances: Institutionalized Human Rights Disaster Under One-Man Rule

Article 21 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights declares:
"Everyone has the right to take part in the government of his country, directly or through freely chosen representatives."

Similarly, Article 25 of the ICCPR guarantees the right to vote and participate in public affairs.

Yet Xi Jinping abolished presidential term limits in 2018 by amending the Constitution, dismantling the last vestiges of institutional checks on power and extinguishing hopes for democratic reform. He consolidated control over the CCP, state, and military through selective "anti-corruption" purges, establishing a de facto personal dictatorship.

This regime strips the Chinese people of any means of political participation and privatizes the machinery of the state, brazenly violating principles of democracy, the rule of law, and human rights.

Under Xi Jinping, the judicial system has become a political enforcer. Court rulings are dictated by party authorities, wrongful convictions are common, and avenues for appeal are effectively shut. Citizens who touch on "sensitive" issues are swiftly silenced, and the space for civil society has been eradicated.

III. Torture, Secret Detention, and Collective Punishment: A Systemic Humanitarian Catastrophe

Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 3 of the European Convention on Human Rights, and the Convention Against Torture all prohibit torture and cruel, inhuman, or degrading treatment. Arbitrary detention and unfair trials are clear violations of international human rights norms.

Under Xi Jinping, these most basic humanitarian principles have been trampled, reduced to meaningless paper promises.

I myself was illegally arrested, interrogated overnight, forcibly body searched, and arbitrarily detained simply for questioning unlawful actions by law enforcement. Even my family was implicated—innocent relatives were harassed and persecuted.

To question illegal conduct by authorities is a natural right and a cornerstone of the rule of law. But under Xi Jinping's regime, the police have become enforcers of tyranny, mercilessly retaliating against those who dare to speak out.

Secret detentions in the middle of the night, deprivation of liberty without due process, physical searches, beatings, verbal abuse, and threats or coercion of family members—these vile tactics reveal the Xi Jinping regime's utter contempt for humanity and international legal obligations.

These acts of torture and terror are not isolated incidents, but part of a systematic, state-sponsored campaign of violence. Under Xi Jinping's rule, any ordinary person—merely for speaking truth from conscience—can be thrown into a black jail and plunged into a nightmare.

Xi Jinping has personally crafted a massive prison without dignity, freedom, or law. He is the chief architect, commander, and ultimate culprit of this human rights disaster.

IV. Suppression of Economic Freedom: Exploiting the People's Livelihood Through Power

Articles 22 and 23 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights affirm the right to work, to freely choose employment, and to favorable working conditions.

However, Xi Jinping's so-called "state advances, private sector retreats" policy has devastated economic freedom. Private enterprises have faced systematic crackdowns. Tech giants like Alibaba, Ant Group, and Didi were fined or dismantled in short order. Investor confidence collapsed, unemployment surged, and social vitality was severely damaged.

Through state-owned monopolies, administrative interference, and strict capital regulations, Xi Jinping has wrecked China's already fragile path toward a market economy. Growth has stalled, social mobility has stagnated, and ordinary people's livelihoods have been severely harmed.

The so-called "common prosperity" initiative is nothing more than a scheme for greater centralization and control, exacerbating wealth inequality and eroding basic economic rights.

V. External Expansion and Export of Autocracy: A Global Threat to Freedom and Order

Article 2 of the UN Charter requires member states to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms.

Yet Xi Jinping's regime not only rules domestically with an iron fist, but also exports authoritarianism worldwide. Through the Belt and Road Initiative and the Digital Silk Road, Xi Jinping promotes autocratic governance in Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America, providing money and technology to anti-human rights regimes.

At international organizations like the UN Human Rights Council and the World Health Organization, Chinese diplomats repeatedly block human rights discussions, pressure weaker states into issuing pro-China statements, and attempt to redefine human rights according to the CCP ideology—undermining the post-WWII liberal order.

Xi Jinping's expansionism is not merely a domestic issue—it is a systemic threat to global freedom, human rights, and the rule of law.

Xi Jinping Will Be Held Accountable

The Xi Jinping regime has systematically and institutionally violated basic human rights on a massive scale, in clear breach of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the ICCPR, the European Convention on Human Rights, and the Convention Against Torture.

Just as history has judged Nazi Germany, apartheid South Africa, and the Pinochet dictatorship in Chile, no regime based on tyranny, persecution, torture, and suppression of liberty can escape eventual reckoning.

Xi Jinping will be judged by history and the people. No matter how high the walls, how tight the surveillance, or how brutal the violence, the call for freedom will continue to grow in the darkness. Justice, though delayed, will come. History will prove that humanity's pursuit of freedom, dignity, and human rights is a force no dictator can destroy.

Xi Jinping, the violator of human rights, is destined to be nailed to the pillar of historical shame!

Xi Jinping needs to take responsibility for this and should resign!

I have reported the illegal and disciplinary bureaucratic group led by Li Guosheng, the former Secretary of the CCP Shangqiu Municipal Committee, Henan Province, and the Mayor Bai Xiangyang from the grassroots level to the highest level in accordance with the law. Xi Jinping, where is your anti-corruption campaign in the regime you lead?
