Dear President Biden,
I write to you with a heavy heart, seeking your intervention and leadership to address the severe situation faced by myself and many other refugees due to UNHCR's corruption, coldness, and collusion with authoritarian regimes in persecuting dissidents.
1. In mainland China, I engaged in human rights activism and was illegally detained and brutally tortured for questioning police misconduct. Forced to flee abroad, my young child had to drop out of school, my father's arm was broken, my son's arm was bitten, and my relatives have been continuously harassed by the CCP.
2. I submitted a refugee application at the UNHCR Thailand Office on October 9, 2023, with my young child. Due to their collusion with the CCP, I have yet to receive an RSD interview.
3. I reported these issues to the UNHCR Inspector General's Office, UNHCR Regional Director for Asia Pacific Hai Kyung Jun, and UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi. Not only were my reports ignored, but my social media accounts were also blocked.
My requests are as follows:
1. Please use your country's and your personal influence, in conjunction with other democratic nations, to thoroughly reform the UNHCR, replacing the incompetent and corrupt leadership of Filippo Grandi.
2. Urge the UNHCR to establish a fair complaint reception system and a comprehensive reward and punishment mechanism.
